The Counselling Service offers short-term counselling to current Dundee University students and staff, and our sessions are free.
Counselling is available by appointment at the City Campus, Kirkcaldy campus and Ninewells campus.
We have a team of counsellors with a wide variety of backgrounds and experience. This may include counselling trainees.
Your time at Dundee is full of challenges:
What if you are a bit overwhelmed by it all?
What if your relationship is going through a rough patch?
What if you're feeling depressed or anxious, and it's no longer much fun?
Talking to a good friend usually helps. It's what most of us do. But even friends have their limits. We can give you a fresh perspective.
Our sessions are friendly, supportive and confidential. These are just some of the issues that students have come to us about:
It's healthier to explore it with an experienced counsellor than bottle it up and never see an improvement. And if we can't help you, we'll let you know and suggest other sources of help.
To see a counsellor, you need to make an appointment. There are three ways to do this: (1) Email firstname.lastname@example.org; (2) Phone 01382 384164; (3) Call into the office at the Old Technical Institute. Please provide your student number, a UK mobile number, and your availability to attend a session. We aim to offer an appointment for an Initial Assessment as soon as possible but at busy periods there may be a wait of 2-3 weeks. If you are in crisis, you can use the drop-in session which takes place Monday to Friday at 10.15am. This is only for emergencies and it works on a first come first served basis. Unable to attend your appointment? If you are unable to attend your appointment, please try to give us at least 24 hours notice so that we can offer the appointment to someone else.Tell us if this listing needs updating
