Treating Disorders is a specailist eating disorder private psychology clinic offering highly specialist, evidence-based therapy for eating and body image difficulties. The clinic is run by Chartered Clinical Psychologist, Dr Georgina Cox, who has extensive training and clinical experience in the field of eating disorders. 

Treating Disorders is passionate and committed to helping people develop a healthy relationship with food and their bodies. We see people struggling with all types of eating and body image difficulties, mild to severe. There is no need for a professional referral or "diagnosis" to be seen in the clinic.

All Treating Disorders clinicians are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society.

Referral Criteria & Process

Treating Disorders works with anyone struggling with eating or body image difficulties, mild to severe. There is no need for a diagnosis to be seen in the clinic. Treating Disorders accepts self-referrals (via email, phone or through the website) or referrals from other healthcare professionals.


All clinicians who work at Treating Disorders are chartered clinical psychologists trained to doctorate level. All clinicians are trained in using specialist cognitive behavioural therapy for eating disorders (CBT-E) and intuitive eating. Some clinicians are also trained in Family Based Treatment for use with young people with eating disorders. Treating Disorder clinicians are strong advocates for the Health At Every Size approach.


All clinicians at Treating Disorders have a doctorate in clinical psychology.


All clinicians who work at Treating Disorders have extensive experience working with eating disorders both within private practice in addition to working in specialist NHS eating disorder services.
