Since 2005 Thomas has worked almost exclusively in the field of eating disorders with both adolescents and adults. He continues to work with both inpatient and outpatient services treating the whole spectrum of severity and co-morbidities common in this field. Alongside anorexia, bulimia and binge eating issues co-morbidities typically include: personality disorders, self-harm, OCD, body image and dysmorphia, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma based symptoms, psychotic features, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders and obesity.

Having dual qualifications enables Thomas to work insightfully and effectively as a psychotherapist alongside medical and dietetic clinician’s, or as a dietitian alongside medical and psychological clinicians. In cases where it appears most helpful (e.g MANTRA, CBT-E or CFT-E) he will work as both a dietitian and psychotherapist to support fast and effective change if all parties involved understand and consent to this practice.
