New for July 2019:

Upcoming weekly daytime and evening spaces available.

I am a psychotherapist with a small private practice working across Bristol and the South West.

I have 8 years' post-qualifying experience in a range of mental health settings, working within specialist inpatient, day treatment, and outpatient therapy teams.

I offer both individual, and family/couples work, and specialise in Eating Disorders and Body Image recovery work.

In my work, I draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques, informed by my training in Dance Movement Psychotherapy and latterly Systemic Psychotherapy. I am a registered therapist and licensed private  practitioner with the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK.I offer individual or small group sessions, specialising in Eating Disorders/Body Image recovery work through a combination of verbal psychotherapy, and experiential approaches informed by Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP). Movement and other creative methods, such as drawing or sensory exploration are offered as a bridge to communication when talking about a particular issue or theme may be difficult. For more information about DMP, please see www.admp.org.uk

I am also a qualified Systemic Practitioner, registered with Association for Family Therapy UK, and am currently undertaking a Masters level training in Systemic Psychotherapy at the University of South Wales. If desired, I would be interested to explore with you how systemic and family influences may be relevant to your recovery. We can also explore the possibility of inviting other family members/carers into the therapy session, if this feels appropriate and useful for you. For further information about Systemic Psychotherapy, please see www.aft.org.uk

In addition, I offer Body Image psychoeducational sessions, encouraging the development of a mindful, accepting connection with the body and recovery from unhelpful behaviours, as well as incorporating strategies for promoting positive self-esteem.
