Referral Criteria & Process

Please submit a referral form at During your first appointment we will assess your needs. It can be useful for looking at what sort of issues you may wish to explore. This is also a chance for us to decide if counselling would be useful or not. If we both agree on future counselling sessions, a contract will be formed, which covers confidentiality, attendance etc.

SAFA counsellors are qualified, receive monthly supervision, undertake on-going CPD and training and are registered with the BACP. We are a centre that offers placements to trainee counsellors who are studying towards a degree in counselling. Our trainee counsellors receive supervision and support from our accredited and experienced Counselling Coordinator.
