NHS Ayrshire & Arran Community Eating Disorder Service

Our Community Eating Disorder Service provides specialist assessment and treatment to the people who have a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. The team aims to provide intensive support to the patient and their families when it is most needed. The team's remit is to offer support to other professionals and family members who are involved in the patients care, to ensure continuity and to maximize the opportunity of remaining within the community setting. The service is not 'stand alone'' and works collaboratively with Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Primary Care Mental Health Team (PCMHT) and Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT)

Referral Criteria & Process

Assessment and treatment to the people who have a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa.

Qualifications

Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Mental health Nurses, Specialist Dietetic, Support Worker, Admin Support. Nurses are trained in Family Based Treatment (FBT) and Maudsley Anorexia Nervosa (MANTRA) for adults
