I am a fully qualified psychotherapist with 18 years' experience helping every client to free themselves from destructive eating patterns.
I specialise in treating the full range of eating disorders, working face to face and online with both individuals and groups. Together we discover how to break long term destructive habits, establish new routines and relationships, and use practical skills to cope with everyday situations. By looking at the root causes of eating disorders, which may include trauma, stress, and low self-esteem, each client is helped to find their unique path to recovery. Using mindfulness helps free clients from the anxiety and stress of struggling with food and eating.
I take a holistic approach to recovery, working with other professionals, including doctors, nutritionists, yoga and physiotherapists if appropriate. With the full agreement of the client. I engage family members, and partners, to enable and support change. I help people move beyond diet myths and beliefs to a new and mindful relationship with food and eating.
For face to face and online clients I offer flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends. The online groups offer a safe space to share with those experiencing similar challenges in emotional eating and weight management. The group promotes trust, openness and acceptance. The eight week programme, Step Forward to Health, is carefully designed to help people achieve resilience and make sustainable changes in their eating and lifestyle.
