Jason Cole - Select Psychology
I am a senior psychotherapist working in the NHS at the Maudsley Hospital and in private practice. I have over 10 years of experience working in psychology services, within both primary care and specialist settings. I believe that therapy can be a transformative experience, which can enable an individual to begin to understand more about themselves and why they feel, think or act in certain ways. Within my practice, I work in an integrative way that is based on your individual needs and goals for therapy. I am interested in exploring with clients how their early lives may impact the issues they bring to therapy today. I value the importance of the therapeutic relationship and will provide a warm, compassionate space where you feel able to express yourself freely. I have experience treating a broad range of mental health difficulties with adults across the lifespan, including depression, stress and low self-esteem. I have helped people suffering with anxiety disorders such as OCD, health anxiety, panic attacks and social anxiety. I have also developed a specialist interest in the treatment of eating disorders, whilst working at the national centre for eating disorders, alongside colleagues including Professors Ulrike Schmidt and Janet Treasure. I am passionate about helping people with eating disorders and understand the courage it can take to share your experience and seek help. I can liaise with other professionals on your behalf, such as your GP, psychiatrist, or dietician, where it is appropriate to do so. I offer clinical supervision and have delivered lectures and training on postgraduate psychology programmes at both King's College London (IoPPN) and University College London (UCL).
