I am trained, skilled and have a lot of experience in working with people struggling with eating disorders. I also can work with trauma, relational problems, anxiety and depression. I am a consultant clinical psychologist, specialising in working with people with eating disorders for over 10 years. I have specialist skills in working with people with bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa and all other forms of eating disorders. I am also skilled and experienced in working with trauma, depression, anxiety and OCD. I am trained in many different therapies, including the 2 year cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) practitioner training and I have also spent time in Toronto, Canada learning emotion focused therapy from the pioneers of this therapy. I am EMDR trained, which has allowed me to work with both eating difficulties and trauma. I think that learning all of these different therapies allows me to integrate and adapt the therapy to meet the needs of the client. This adapting of therapy is also helped by my work as a researcher, as I have spent the last 10 years undertaking research into eating disorders. This research has led to numerous publications, including a book.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, British Psychological Society and the Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
I accept both referrals from the self and from other professionals.
