fightED is a family-run charity offering support, advice and education to families in Northern Ireland who have a loved one with an eating disorder. fightED Chairperson, Debbie Howard, suffered from anorexia for around 11 years, and is now recovered and a UKCP registered psychotherapist, working with others with eating disorders. Herself and her family have first-hand experience of the destruction an eating disorder brings into the home and the impact on the family, and started the charity to help other families. fightED delivers the world-renowned New Maudsley Model workshop which is a two day workshop aimed specifically for parents/carers. The course covers many aspects which affect families living with an eating disorder including: what are eating disorders; the causes; the psychology of change; how to promote recovery; communication skills; the most helpful caring styles; the importance of self care.

The New Maudsley workshops are open to anyone who has a loved one with an eating disorder
