Eating Disorders Edinburgh

What is your Eating Disorder? It's a strategy you have subconsciously developed to help you cope. That means there are experiences, past or present, that you are struggling to cope with. That's where I step in! Together we will process these experiences and in turn, allow you to move forward from your Eating Disorder. We will work collaboratively towards a 'goal' or 'goals' of your choosing, ensuring that the space remains safe for you as we begin our work together. You only have to share what you feel comfortable with, and we see each other as regularly as you think would be helpful. I collaborate with clients struggling with the diagnosis and symptoms of Avoidant or Restrictive Eating (ARFID), Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Body Dysmorphia, Emotional Overeating, Muscle Dysmorphia, Obesity, Over-Exercise, Orthorexia, and Yo-Yo Dieting. Often our Disordered Eating doesn't fall into a specific category, so I also work with challenges which cannot be classified with a standardised label. Please note, I am not currently taking on clients presenting with clinically diagnosed Anorexia Nervosa

Experience

I've been grateful in my 10 years in the industry to work with clients bringing with them a wide range of experiences and traumas which have resulted in Disordered Eating. From research we know that Disordered Eating is a way of coping with traumatic life experiences we have found challenging or impossible to cope with.

My experience lies in both Single and Complex Trauma, as well as having specific interest in working with those who identify as male, the LGBTQ+ community, and with young people.
