Dr Nicola Gilbert

I am a warm and compassionate Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years experience working in NHS mental health services, and a decade within specialist eating disorder settings. I provide psychological therapy that draws on the latest evidence and is tailored to your current needs and presenting difficulties. I have accreditation in CBT with the BABCP, and am experienced in using specialist CBT for eating disorders, the Maudsley model of Anorexia Nervosa for adults (MANTRA) and compassion and schema therapy.

I specialise in work that supports the treatment of people aged 16 years and older with all kinds of eating-related difficulties and distress; whether this fits within diagnoses such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, ARFID, OSFED and BED, or has been about turning to eating as a way to cope with other life difficulties and distress.

You are likely to be doing more to help yourself than you are giving yourself credit for. The focus of our work will be about strengthening this foundation whilst helping you to step out of less supportive patterns, and experiment with new ways of being.
