Dr Menna Jones, Clinical Psychologist

I have 20 years' experience of practising as a clinical psychologist and supporting people with eating disorders through a range of psychological therapies. I ensure that the form of therapy that I undertake is the most suitable for the needs and circumstances of the individual person, and particularly led by their stage in the recovery process. The therapies that I offer include CBT-E, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, MANTRA, Schema therapy, Psychodynamic and Systemic (ie. family-focused) therapy. I would welcome the opportunity to have an initial chat with anyone who thinks that they may benefit from having therapy sessions with me. I do not provide therapy for anyone who is currently engaged with treatment through the NHS.

Member of Professional Body

I am registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) as a Practitioner Psychologist, registration code PYL 17161.

Referral Criteria & Process

I welcome contact from anyone aged 16 and above who is interested in discussion having one-to-one therapy regarding an eating disorder they are experiencing. I am also happy to receive enquiries from family members to discuss the option of their loved one receiving therapy. I do not provide therapy for anyone who is currently engaged in treatment for an eating disorder in the NHS, and they need to be experiencing no current medical issues and be engaging with medical monitoring (ie. weighing and blood monitoring) where this is needed.

Having completed my training as a Clinical Psychologist in 2003, I have since then trained in a number of therapies and approaches that can be beneficial for people experiencing eating disorders, including CBTE, Dialectial Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Thearpy, Schema Therapy, and Systemic (ie. family-focused) therapy etc.

Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Postgarduate Diploma in Systemic Practice

In addition to having 20 years' experience of delivering psychological therapies for adults with eating disorders, I have also extensively supervised other practitioners in the delivery of these therapies, and managed a specialist service for eating disorders in the NHS for a number of years.
