Dr Elizabeth Roberts
I can help you through the first difficult steps of your recovery journey and weight restoration, support you through your transition to more relaxed eating and living and maintaining recovery in the following ways: formulate a nutritional plan for recovery, meal planning and practical solutions, identify strategies for managing social occasions, help you identify barriers to renourishing your body and solve problems together, help you navigate and manage physical symptoms of an eating disorder, such as constipation, bloating and reflux, help you navigate additional nutritional problems, such as coeliac disease, diabetes and inflammatory and bowel problems, return to normal and more intuitive eating, develop a plan to introduce physical activity with adequate nutrition, explore difficult foods and adopt a plan for trying these out, identify a future plan and give you the tools to keep you well and prevent relapse. I have over 20 years' experience working with adults as well as children and young people with eating disorders, disordered eating and other eating difficulties. For parents, rest assured that I have more than 8 years' experience consulting through the Family Based Treatment for Anorexia (FBT-AN) approach and extensive skills working with parents to support their child with weight restoration. Families have told me that my warm, compassionate approach has helped ease their child’s anxiety. Most clients opt for a package of appointments, with or without meal planning, and I also offer a payment plan, so you can spread the cost. Early contact with Elizabeth made all the difference. Not all children are the same, and having a personalised eating plan for our daughter was very helpful. Bernice It was helpful to see Elizabeth to support our daughter both early on to know what I should be doing but perhaps more crucially, towards the end of treatment, for my child (and me) to feel able to eat more normally and think about food in a more positive way.
