I am a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with many years experience working in the NHS.  As well as working with eating disorders I am experienced in treating a wide range of emotional and psychological issues, many of which often accompany eating disorders, such as poor body image, low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, depression and relationship issues.  I bring many therapy skills and practical strategies to my practice.  I also have a trained understanding of the nutritional issues that eating disorder clients bring to therapy.  I am therefore able to offer a holistic, effective approach which is supportive and tailored to the needs of each person I see.  I am also able to work and provide support to partners and parents of people with an eating disorder.

Referral Criteria & Process

I welcome self-referrals and referrals from other healthcare professionals, including GPs, Psychiatrists and other agencies.
If you would like to discuss the possibility of meeting for an appointment or have any questions please get in touch, either by phoning me or sending an e-mail. I aim to respond to all messages within 24 hours and understand that this first step can be difficult.
If we arrange a first appointment it will be an opportunity for us to meet each other, explore and understand how things are for you now and for me to explain how the process works. This gives us a chance to begin to think about what would be most helpful and appropriate for you.  There is no obligation to arrange further meetings and at the end of the first session you may decide you want to meet again or to go away and think further about what would be most useful for you. It may also be that we decide it would be more helpful for you to see someone else.

I am a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a Registered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
