Dietetically Speaking - Online Disordered Eating Support

The Dietetically Speaking Online Clinic was founded by Registered Dietitian Maeve Hanan. We support those who want to improve their relationship with food; including those who struggle with disordered eating or who want to break free from diets and develop more freedom and flexibility with food.

The main eating difficulties we support our clients with are: food guilt and anxiety, food rules, restriction, binge eating and emotional eating.

Our Dietitians use an approach called nutrition counselling which is psychologically informed, compassionate and client-centred. They also have a range of skills and experience in relevant areas such as: intuitive eating, gut health and women’s health.

Referral Criteria & Process

As clinics are held online, we do not work with clients who are at a very high risk of medical issues (e.g. BMI below 16, purging more than 8 times per week, severe psychiatric issues). We have a free discovery call with all clients to ensure we are a good fit to work together.

Private Practice Dietitian: I have worked with a wide variety of nutritional concerns in different private nutrition clinics, including the Talia Cecchele Nutrition Clinic (Eating Disorder Specialist Clinic), the London Centre for Intuitive Eating and the Dublin Nutrition Centre. Mental Health Bank Specialist Dietitian in the NHS: This involves working temporarily with a specialist mental health team with a variety of eating difficulties. Other roles within the NHS included: Paediatric Specialist Dietitian, Stroke Specialist Dietitian and General Dietitian. Varied nutrition communication experience: This includes social media work, lecturing College/University students, providing wellness webinars, health writing, blogging and working with companies and the media. I also co-founded a company called Nutrimote which supports Nutrition Professionals with online working.
