Connect-Eating Disorders

Connect-eating disorders are a team of specialist eating disorder clinicians who work within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). We support families and young people who are being treated within GGC CAMHS.

Therefore children and young people must first be referred to CAMHS by their GP or hospital doctor, school nurse or pastoral care teacher. To get information and support about the referral process please phone the team number above.

Referral Criteria & Process

Children and young people or their carers who have concerns about their behaviour or thoughts and beliefs around their weight/shape and eating/exercise/pursing behaviour. Early intervention is important therefore referrals do not rely on set criteria.

Training

The team are multi professional and are trained in the treatments of best evidence, Family Based Treatment (FBT) and CBT-ED and include specialist eating disorder Dietitians.
