Clara Herring
I’m Clara, a registered psychotherapist specialising in supporting people with eating disorders, disordered eating, excessive exercise, and body image issues.In addition to my qualifications in mental health, I am a Master Practitioner in eating disorders accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), and have extensive professional experience in the field. I have completed my specialised training at the National Centre for Eating Disorders in London, and hold a postgraduate diploma in eating disorders as well as other diplomas including in nutritional interventions for eating disorders and a certificate in clinical nutrition from the University of Aberdeen. Additionally, I have completed a range of accredited training and courses.I work with adults with all types of eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder), and have specialist experience in anorexia nervosa including severe and enduring anorexia, purging type anorexia, and restricting type anorexia. My approach integrates both my clinical expertise and lived experience of eating disorder recovery. Having personally struggled with severe anorexia for many years and gone through the recovery process, I offer a deep level of empathy and understanding.I am registered and accredited with both the BACP and the NCPS, and work with clients in my practice in Wimpole Street, Central London as well as online, both in English and French. I am committed to creating a safe, confidential and supportive space for my clients, offering guidance tailored to your unique needs. With clients’ consent, I can also work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals in your treatment team to offer you the best support. I work in an integrative way and combine different therapeutic approaches to help you rebuild a positive, healthy and happy relationship with food and your body, and to support you on your journey towards full recovery, healing, better wellbeing, and a more fulfilling life.
