The Chimneys Clinic, New Road, Rougham, Bury St Edmunds, IP30 9LR The Chimneys Clinic is a 12-bedded inpatient hospital located in Suffolk which specialises in the treatment of severe or life-threatening eating disorders in adults. Our service is suitable for men or women detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), subject to a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding (DoLS) or willing to receive treatment on an informal basis. We employ a full multidisciplinary team (MDT) of Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, General Practitioners (GPs), Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Registered General Nurses (RGNs), Registered Mental Health Nurses (RNMHs), Registered Learning Disability Nurses (RNLDs) Therapy Assistants, Advocates and experienced Support Workers.  Our MDT work collaboratively to develop bespoke treatment plans designed to meet individuals' specific needs, which will include a range of therapies such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) - please refer to the treatment & recovery section for our full range of therapies. Many our patients will present with dangerously low Body Mass Index's (BMIs) and additional physical health complications such as hypocalcaemia, epilepsy, osteoporosis, bradycardia & dysrhythmia.  Some of our patients will need to have their bloods analysed daily or require nasogastric tube feeding treatment. Additionally, we can support individuals with a pre-existing mental illness, for example; bi-polar affective disorder, personality disorder or schizophrenia and those with mild developmental disorders such as an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or learning disability. Our model of care focuses on recovery, therapeutic optimism, relapse prevention and personalisation.  We seek to restore confidence and self-esteem, re-establish healthy eating patterns and reduce anxiety and distorted body image in a nurturing and non-judgemental environment.

ü  Primary diagnosis of eating disorder ü  Detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) ü  Subject to a Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding ü  Informal ü  Male or female ü  18 years + ü  Comorbidities including addictions, depression, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-complulsive Disorder (OCD) and self injurous behaviour ü  Additional mental health diagnois such as bi-polar affective disorder, personality disorder or schizophrenia ü  Mild developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or a Learning Disability (LD) ü  Forensic background ü  Physical disabilities ü  Treatment resistant ü  Nasogastric tube feeding treatment ü  Dangerously low BMI ü  Physical health complications such as hypocalcaemia, epilepsy, osteoporosis, bradycardia & dysrhythmia
