Referral Criteria & Process

Referrals will be accepted where the child or young person has severe anorexia or bulimia. Referrals accepted from A & E, CMHTs, Consultants, GPs, Health visitors, Local authority staff, Other NHS services, Other Trust services, Police, Schools, Youth Offending Team. Referrals will generally only be accepted where a child is registered with a Calderdale district GP or remains the responsibility of Calderdale District under responsible commissioning guidance. Self referrals also accepted. Routine referrals have to be made through the Calderdale CAMHS First Point of Contact site (https://calderdalecamhs.org.uk/how-to-refer/). They will be able to offer telephone support, consultation, signposting information, and referral guidance about CAMHS in Calderdale. However in the case of urgent/emergency referrals, please contact 01422 262 380.
