The Brighton and Hove Eating Disorders Peer Support Service (branded as BHEDS Peer 2 Peer) is a partnership between Men Get Eating Disorders Too, As You Are, The Carers' Centre for Brighton and Hove and the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This group is for the families and friends who are in a supporting role of those who are affected by eating disorders. The main purpose for the groups is to provide those who attend a space to meet with others in a similar situation to share their experiences and coping strategies. Our group aim is to ease isolation by offering inclusion to those who attend. Our groups offer: €¢ A safe and welcoming environment where those in a supporting role can share and discuss their experiences. €¢Information and advice on eating disorders to enable better understanding of symptoms. €¢Gateways to support including counselling, other therapies, support groups and treatment e.g. Brighton and Hove Eating Disorders Peer Support Service. Any individual affected by eating disorders and problem eating over the age of eighteen from the Brighton and Hove area is able to attend the groups. Those wishing to attend are welcome to be part of the Peer Support group whether or not they are currently receiving support such as counselling or other therapies.
