Brighton & Hove Clinc

Brighton & Hove Clinic provides a CAMHS Tier 4 Eating Disorder service for young people aged 12 up to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of eating disorder; or an eating difficulty with a co-morbid presentation for example mental health/ psychological issues, such as depression, OCD or anxiety/ self-harm.

We work actively with young people and their families, to empower them to manage their illness in the community.

Our 16 bed inpatient unit provides a warm and nurturing environment so that we can identify and understand the symptoms, patterns and origins of psychological distress and help patients manage their condition.

Each adolescent will have their own en-suite bedroom, they are encouraged to personalise their space for them to feel comfortable. All young people have access to communal living space, a dining area, quiet room, occupational therapy kitchen, laundry and garden. The environment enables the young people to socialise with their peers, be as independent as possible where they do not feel isolated.

Referral Criteria & Process

Referrals are usually made by a healthcare professional (e.g. psychiatrist, nurse, GP) and can be made by telephone, email or in writing. In some circumstances, we are able to accept a referral from a child's parents or carers. Treatment is funded by the NHS.
