Referral Criteria & Process

I accept direct referrals either from individuals, parents or medical practitioners.  If you are a parent making a referral it is important that I meet with you as part of the assessment process and possibly as part of the treatment.I work from my practice in Salisbury (www.salisburypractice.co.uk).

Qualifications

I trained in CBT at the Maudsley Hospital/Kings College, London  and in Family Therapy at the Institute of Family Therapy/Birckbeck College, London.  Since completing my trainings (in 2005 and 2000 respectively) I worked in the NHS in a child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS), an area in which I had worked since 1999, where one of my specialisms was in eating disorders. I now work solely in independent practice. As part of my professional requirements I have undertaken regular professional training updates and have attended workshops on Specialist approaches to working with Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge eating disorders.   I have worked closely with specialist Doctors including Psychiatrists, Paediatricians and dieticians as part of a multi-disciplinary approach to treating eating disorders.            I am registered and accredited  with the BABCP (CBT) and AFT/UKCP for my Family Therapy and my registration details can be found on the BABCP, AFT/UKCP websites.
