Referral Criteria & Process

The sufferer should contact AEA themselves. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop addictive eating. There are no dues or fees for membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.

Qualifications

We have found a solution in the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, as developed in Alcoholics Anonymous. We focus on the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, as our basic text, and the message of recovery it carries. We find the spiritual practice set out in the book provides the solution for our addictive eating, as it does for alcoholism.
